AFEDJ’s Giving Societies, launched in 2014, help AFEDJ embody and encourage the spirit of philanthropy by recognizing its most committed supporters. Giving Society members support AFEDJ’s goal to achieve excellence in its mission to build peace from the ground up.
Your annual contribution, combined with gifts from other supporters around the world, makes it possible for us to touch thousands of lives each year — together. Unrestricted support provides flexibility to respond to critical and emerging needs. This includes enabling a wide range of initiatives and projects across the institutions of the Diocese of Jerusalem, such as:
- Emergency medical care
- Scholarship and educational resources
- Facility and technology improvements
The needs at the institutions in the Diocese of Jerusalem are constantly changing. The examples below are representative only. Unless a donor specifically restricts a contribution, AFEDJ will use each gift where the need is greatest.
AFEDJ strives to:
- Recognize the support of active donors
- Communicate with donors about the impact of their gifts
- Encourage and value support across all levels
Why Become A Giving Society Member?
Making an annual gift at one of the Giving Society levels allows you to play an important role in AFEDJ’s humanitarian work in the Holy Land. You can make a powerful statement about how much you value our mission and work.
This level is designed for students and young professionals who may not have the financial capacity to make a significant gift, but are passionate about AFEDJ’s mission to change lives through better healthcare, housing, and education. Your commitment and support are appreciated at any level! Your gift of $50 can provide books and school supplies for a student or a physical therapy session for a disabled child.
Donations at this level can buy a wheelchair for a disabled child at the Jofeh Center in Jordan, a year of books for a high school student, or immunizations for six children.
A gift at the Steward level provides valuable coverage for necessities, such as one month of “tuition” for daycare at the Evangelical Homes facility in Ramallah, Palestine, or a semester of transportation to and from school for a disabled child.
A Samaritan’s generous gift of $500 can buy a new computer for the Vocational Technical Training program in Ramallah, or 10 patient visits at the Penman Clinic in Zababdeh.
At the Shepherd giving level, your money goes a long way — $1000 will cover half a year of tuition for one high school student.
Jerusalem Cross Society: $2,500
Membership in the Jerusalem Cross Society comes with life-changing benefits — this level of support covers the cost of a 2- or 3-week residential treatment program for a mother and child with disabilities at the Princess Basma Center for Children with Disabilities in East Jerusalem.
Olive Branch Society: $5,000
The Olive Branch Society, comprised of key donors, is passionate about and dedicated to furthering AFEDJ’s mission. Through their generosity, society members can enable life-changing projects, such as a new computer lab for a school, or a much-needed repair and upgrade of facilities on a school campus.
Fishes & Loaves Society: $10,000
We are profoundly grateful for the generous support of the Fishes & Loaves Society. Membership in the Fishes & Loaves Society, one of AFEDJ’s most committed groups of donors, changes lives through projects such as a refurbished dialysis machine for Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, or a patient’s one-year residency at the Elderly People’s Home in Amman, Jordan.
Peace Builders Society: $25,000
The Peace Builders Society represents AFEDJ’s top major donors. Participation in this Society is a life-changing, high-impact commitment. The generous support from Peace Builders enables AFEDJ to respond to the most critical initiatives and needs in the Holy Land, and is vital to our mission of building peace from the ground up. Your gift at this level keeps the doors open at an institution, entirely funds special projects, or gives the gift of education to many students.
