In the unfolding chapters of our “Renewing Hope” campaign, we’re profoundly grateful for your unwavering support—a catalyst for positive change in the Holy Land. Today we would like to share with you an incredible story of the transformative power of your contribution:
In a remarkable testament to perseverance and dedication, Yaqeen, a blind student at The Arab Episcopal School (AES) in Irbid, Jordan, recently shattered barriers and achieved academic excellence in her twelfth-grade exams. Despite facing the challenges associated with blindness, Yaqeen excelled with a staggering 99% average, placing her among the top scholars in the city. Her success is not only a personal triumph but also a reflection of AES’ commitment to inclusive education and their steadfast dedication to all students.
Born into a blind family of four, Yaqeen’s journey at AES began at the tender age of three. Supported by dedicated teachers and administrators, she navigated her academic path with resilience and determination. AES’ ethos of inclusivity and equality ensured that Yaqeen and other blind and low-vision students received the necessary resources and support to thrive academically. Beyond individual achievement, Yaqeen’s success symbolizes a broader societal shift towards embracing and empowering individuals with disabilities, challenging cultural perceptions and fostering a more inclusive future. AES’ commitment to providing a compassionate and first-rate education for all students, irrespective of their background, is not only commendable but also serves as a beacon of hope for marginalized communities worldwide.
